WaterDrop Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

WaterDrop is published by DT Nova Tmi, a sole trader registered in Finland, trading as The Dolce Way. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, DT Nova Tmi is the data controller for this policy.

What WaterDrop collects

Nothing. DT Nova Tmi receives no data of any kind from the app. Specifically, WaterDrop does not collect or transmit:

• Your name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail
• Any account or login, because the app has neither
• Your hydration log, goals, streaks or history
• Health or fitness data
• Device identifiers, advertising identifiers or an IDFA
• Location data
• Crash reports, diagnostics or performance data sent to us
• Usage data, screen views, session length or any other analytics
• Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone or camera data

This is why the App Store privacy label for WaterDrop reads Data Not Collected.

The app has no network access

WaterDrop is a self-contained binary. It contains no networking code of its own. There is no URLSession, no web view, no CloudKit container, no socket and no background upload. It links only the following Apple frameworks, all of which run on your device:

SwiftUI, UIKit, Foundation, Combine, HealthKit, StoreKit, UserNotifications, WidgetKit, AppIntents, BackgroundTasks, CoreTransferable, UniformTypeIdentifiers

There are no third-party libraries in the project. No Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel, no RevenueCat, no attribution SDK, no advertising SDK and no ad network. The app ships with no Swift Package, CocoaPods or Carthage dependencies at all.

Where your data lives

Everything you log is written to a private container on your own device, shared between the app, its widgets, the Apple Watch app and its complication. It never leaves that device through anything the app does.

You control it completely. You can edit or delete any entry inside the app, and deleting WaterDrop from your device removes the app's stored data with it. Because we never receive a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and nothing for us to hand over if we were asked.

Apple Health

WaterDrop can work with Apple Health, but only if you turn it on. The Apple Health setting is off when you install the app, and nothing is requested from Health until you switch it on yourself and grant permission in the system dialog.

There are three separate opt-ins, each off by default:

• Apple Health. Writes the water content of drinks you log as a dietary water sample, and reads dietary water written by other apps so your daily total counts each drink once.
• Adjust for workouts. Reads today's workouts and their active energy, and uses them to raise today's hydration goal. Turning this on is the only thing that adds workouts and active energy to what the app can read.
• Write caffeine to Apple Health. Writes a dietary caffeine sample for drinks you log. It is requested separately from water, so your existing permissions are never widened without you being asked.

Health data read or written by WaterDrop stays inside Apple Health on your device. It is governed by Apple's own protections and by the permissions you granted, which you can review or revoke at any time in the Health app under Sharing, or in Settings under Privacy and Security. WaterDrop never transmits Health data anywhere, and DT Nova Tmi never sees it.

If Health data is included in an iCloud backup or synced between your own devices, that is done by Apple under your own iCloud settings. We have no access to it and no part in it.

WaterDrop does not use it for advertising, does not share it with third parties, and does not request Clinical Health Records.

Reminders and notifications

Drink reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device. There is no push server and no notification token is sent anywhere. If you turn notifications off, nothing else about the app changes.

Purchases

WaterDrop Premium is sold through the App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles the entire transaction. We never see and never receive your card number, billing address or any other payment detail. Your purchase is validated on your device against Apple's receipt, not against a server of ours.

Apple gives us aggregate sales and download reports. Those reports do not identify individual customers. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple Watch and widgets

The widgets, Control Center controls, Shortcuts actions and the Apple Watch app read and write the same on-device data as the app itself. The Watch app stays in step with the iPhone through Apple Health only. There is no separate sync service and no data leaves your devices.

Your rights under the GDPR

DT Nova Tmi is established in Finland, so the GDPR applies to us.

Because WaterDrop sends us nothing, we do not process any personal data about you through the app. There is no processing to base on a lawful ground, no profile held about you and no third party we could share your data with.

If you email us, we process your email address and whatever you write so that we can reply. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in answering people who contact us. We keep that correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your message.

In relation to any personal data we do hold, you have the right to:

• Ask what we hold about you and get a copy (Article 15)
• Have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16)
• Have your data erased (Article 17)
• Restrict how we use it (Article 18)
• Receive it in a portable format (Article 20)
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21)

Write to dt.nova369@gmail.com and we will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman, Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto, at tietosuoja.fi, or to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live.

Children

WaterDrop is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, but it is not directed at children as a product. It collects no personal data from anyone, so it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If WaterDrop ever starts collecting or transmitting data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label will be updated to match. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
